What if birds had shattered CDs instead of feathers?

Here is a collection of unique sculptures created by artist Sean Avery, who relies on a variety of media to portray animals — from bears, to birds, to the Loch Ness Monster — in a conceptually simple but visually arresting way. 

Writes Avery:

My sculptures are all constructed with recycled materials - old CDs, computer hard drives etc, so I classify my work as “sustainable art”. They’re a lot of fun to make, but they take an extremely long time to finish, so I don’t do a lot of them.

Suddenly she heard a twig snapping behind her and she whirled around, guns high in front of her, ready to shoot at anything. To her surprise, a man stood in front of her with an identical shocked expression, staring at her.

“Well… A hot woman who knows how to use a gun. Guess my prayers have been answered.” The man said, the swagger obvious in his voice as he arched an eyebrow at her.

River smirked, lowering her guns cautiously. “Ask and you shall receive, sweetie.” She responded flirtatiously.

The man smirked back. “I’m Dean. And you are…? Other than gorgeous, of course.”

Oh, I like him. River did love flirting. ”River. River Song.”

“River Song, huh? Well I hate to say it, River, but as, uh, comfortable you are protecting yourself,” he eyes her gun with a smile, “you should probably get out of here. There’s some things lurking about that you probably don’t want to know about.”

She studied him quietly, looking Dean up and down. His stance was relaxed but aware, with a forced casualness that only came with years of training and fighting. She was certain the bulge in his jacket was a gun. This Dean is more than he looks… and damn, does he look good, she thought. In fact… River took a chance.

“What, like the werewolf you’re hunting?”

Dean’s eyebrows shot up. “You’re a hunter too?”

River smiled. “Spoilers.”
